Not really. Actually the opposite: the state is doing very well thanks to an influx of gay professionals.
Who would have thunk it? Having a bunch of (on average) educated, well-employed workers with lots of disposable income improves an area's economy.

ReplyDeleteBut seriously, this is such a "No duh" situation. P-town alone probably has more art and antique dealers doing well financially than the entire state of South Dakota. It's pretty ridiculous that only Mass has figured out what Canada and most of Europe has known for years: the gay folk like to buy stuff.
What's weird is that the cities in Alabama understand this, and they are actively recruiting the gays. My new city is begging for them.
