  1. - The apocalyptic trilogy are some of my favorites. Heston actually had a role in mainstreaming scifi in the 70's.
    - I'll never forget watching Tombstone, just overwhelmed with manliness, and then late in the action, they stay at a ranch, owned by Charleton Heston! It may the closest I've come to simply collapsing while watching in a movie.
    - The damn dirty apes can't touch him now.

  2. Actors die, their iconic portrayals stay with us always. He'll always be remembered more than he remembered at the end, that's for certain...

    At least until we nuke ourselves into ape-enslaved oblivion, start eating the elderly, become infected with vampire-zombie disease, or--more likely and certainly inevitable--the sun out-paces our technology.

    And could someone pry that gun out from his hands now? That was his postmortem request...Let's be respectful of the dead, for Christ's sake.
